Every year, the city and the Los Angeles Music Center put on a giant party in Grand Park to ring in the new year! 1 lb. raw shrimp
2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
½ lemon juice
Kosher salt
Black pepper
3 cloves garlic
1/4 c. Parmesan
2 tbsp. fresh parsley
Warmed Marinara sauce
DIRECTIONS
The cooking instructions for this dish are simple. Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees F. Next place parchment paper on a large baking sheet pan and then mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl (just make sure you’ve already cleaned up your shrimp beforehand). Next place the shrimp on the pan and roast in the oven for eight to ten minutes. Next serve with a warm marinara sauce for dipping and let your guest enjoy!

]]>The display features thousands of LED lights, a glowing 130 foot snake, a 3D animated elephant dressed in holiday clothes and much more. For those of you with children, the display is a must-see event, and even if you don’t have kids, it will bring out your inner child.
The fun is open everyday through January, with the exception of Christmas eve and day. Tickets start in the $12 dollar range for children and move up to $14 for adults (depending on the day and time you show up). Check out the LA Zoo’s webpage below for all the details.

]]>Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds of Brussels sprouts
3 tablespoons of butter
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 cups of milk
Kosher salt and fresh black pepper
1 cup of grated Gruyere
Salt a large pot of water and bring it to a boil. Slowly add in the Brussels sprouts, and let them cook for seven minutes, or until the veggies turn bright green. Take the sprouts out and put them into a large bowl of ice water to stop them from cooking (who knew about this awesome trick?).
Start on the sauce by putting the butter and flour into a pan and cooking with medium heat. Stir the mix until it bubbles, then add in milk and stir until thick, which takes about three minutes. Be sure to season thoroughly with salt and pepper.
Now cut the Brussels sprouts in half and place them in a baking pan. Pour the sauce we just made over the sprouts and sprinkle a bit of cheese over them. Place back in the oven and let them bake for 12 minutes (isn’t your mouth already watering). Now serve.

]]>The organization provides counseling, continuing education training, and job training to Los Angeles’ homeless population. The organization also provides food, shelter, personal and medical care. Overall, its one of the many wonderful organizations in the Los Angeles area. The Midnight Mission also hosts food donation drives, a special Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas events for the people its serves.
