Brussels sprouts might not sound like the tastiest veggie in the world, but they are delicious once you give them a try. If you’ve never tasted a Brussels sprout, your inner child might be tell you not to. But we are all adults and veggies can taste wonderful. Here is a quick Brussels sprouts recipe to serve at your Thanksgiving meal this year.

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds of Brussels sprouts
3 tablespoons of butter
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 cups of milk
Kosher salt and fresh black pepper
1 cup of grated Gruyere

Salt a large pot of water and bring it to a boil. Slowly add in the Brussels sprouts, and let them cook for seven minutes, or until the veggies turn bright green. Take the sprouts out and put them into a large bowl of ice water to stop them from cooking (who knew about this awesome trick?).

Start on the sauce by putting the butter and flour into a pan  and cooking with medium heat. Stir the mix until it bubbles, then add in milk and stir until thick, which takes about three minutes. Be sure to season thoroughly with salt and pepper.

Now cut the Brussels sprouts in half and place them in a baking pan. Pour the sauce we just made over the sprouts and sprinkle a bit of cheese over them. Place back in the oven and let them bake for 12 minutes (isn’t your mouth already watering). Now serve.
